Private Installations

Two walls in one house: printed spam pinned up as insulation, and a grid of monitors running Dallas.

The Dallas Wall

None of the Screens Agree

A wall of monitors, each on a different episode, none of them in sync. The same man is young on one and gray on another. The room holds no single moment, only overlap.

The Dallas Wall

The Bare Patches Between

The wall is not covered. Pale rectangles of drywall still show between the monitors. The plan is corner to corner, and I have not let myself do the arithmetic all the way out.

The Dallas Wall

Onions and the Other Room

The origin of the wall: years of reruns running behind the stove while onions went soft in a pan. The whole thing is an attempt to stand inside that evening again.

The Dallas Wall

Two Clocks, One Room

One screen loops a dinner scene while the kettle comes up to boil. The fictional evening cycles faster than the real one, and neither clock watches the other.

The Dallas Wall

Another Room Talking

The dialogue drifts out of the office and becomes household weather. Half-heard arguments and theme music as furniture, the words less important than the fact of a room talking somewhere.

The Dallas Wall

The Room That Was for Paperwork

A home office, meant for bills and folders, quietly taken over by the wall. The desk is under there still. It is not the reason for the room anymore.

The Dallas Wall

Three of the Same Man, One Pot of Beans

The wall shows the same face on three screens at three different ages, all of them arguing, while a pot of beans comes slowly up to heat in the next room.

The Dallas Wall

The Wall That Runs on Dallas

A home office where old episodes play across a grid of monitors, each on a different hour, none of them agreeing. The room is set up to rebuild an evening, not to watch a show.

The Spam Wall

The Wall Keeps the Cold Out

I print every spam email on recycled paper and pin it to the basement wall. It has slowly become insulation. The lies keep the cold out.

The Spam Wall

You Have Been Selected

A fresh batch of printed scams pinned up near the laundry sink. New white-gray pages going in under the yellowed ones. The north wall grew this week.

The Spam Wall

The Pin That Let Go

A pushpin gave out and a fake invoice slid down behind a box of Christmas lights. Found weeks later, curled. Pinned back up, smoothed flat.

The Spam Wall

The Far-Away Fortune Corner

The corner of the wall where the oldest lie lives — the distant fortune that needs only your help and your bank details. A whole genre pinned into one place, gone soft with age.

The Spam Wall

The Ghost Under the Lie

The wall runs on doubled recycling. The paper had one life before the printer. The lie had thousands. Two kinds of reuse meeting on a single pinned sheet.

The Spam Wall

The Warm Corner, Possibly

A private wish that the toner-heavy sheets seal the wall a little tighter against the cold. The north corner feels warmer now. That may be wishful thinking.

The Spam Wall

Urgent, Beside the Furnace

A false-emergency email printed and pinned beside the furnace pipe. Your account will be suspended. The offer stays urgent forever. The pipe stays warm.

The Spam Wall

The Yellow Sheets Up Top

The oldest part of the wall, near the joists, where the paper has yellowed and the toner has faded and the corners have gone brittle. The project is old enough now to have sediment.
